Mexico NOM certification
Introduction to Certification
NOM is the abbreviation of the official Mexican standard "Normas Oficials Mexico". This standard is based on the Federal Law of Mexico on Metrology and Standards (LFMN) and implements the market regulation system. The system requires that all products under control must comply with the NOM standard and be affixed with the NOM logo before they can be circulated in the market.
The NOM (Normas Oficiales Mexico) mark is a mandatory safety sign in Mexico. The product is marked with the NOM mark to indicate that the product complies with the relevant standards.
For electronic and electrical products, the following departments are mainly responsible for testing and certification of NOM:
ANCE: The scope of certification covers all household appliances such as air conditioners, televisions, lamps, etc.
NYCE: The certification scope covers all telecommunication products, video audio equipment and data processing equipment.
The certificate holder must be a local company registered in Mexico and be responsible for the quality, maintenance and reliability of the product. However, under special circumstances, a Chinese company may hold a master certificate, but a local Mexican company must hold a duplicate certificate; Only certificates held by local companies in Mexico can be used for customs clearance. The product test report must be issued by the laboratory recognized by the Mexican laboratory audit organization, and submitted by the recognized laboratory to the relevant Mexican institutions for certificate issuance. The certificate is valid for one year, and a new test must be applied for within one year after obtaining the certificate to maintain the validity of the certificate.
Product scope
The NOM logo covers more than 2000 product categories. The setting of NOM standards involves the following fields: safety, health, environmental protection, communication, information, energy efficiency, etc. NOM logo covers most electronic and electrical products, such as information technology equipment, audio and video, household appliances, power supply, lamps and other products with potential risks to health and safety. The electronic products with voltage higher than 24V belong to the scope of compulsory certification, while the electronic products with voltage lower than 24V belong to the scope of voluntary certification.

Mexico COFETEL certification (IFTEL)
Introduction to Certification
COFETEL, the full name of Comisi ó n Federal de Telecomunicaciones, is both a certification name and a regulatory agency. All access to Mexico's public telecommunications networks and radio equipment (including most digital products) need to be recognized. The recognition is divided into temporary and long-term.
In September 2013, Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Commission COFETEL was replaced by Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute. Since then, IFETEL will be responsible for the testing and type approval process required for all imported equipment of Mexico Telecom, and COFETEL no longer exists. For Mexico Telecom type approval that has been completed by COFETEL, IFETEL will retain the same numbering system for the parent model and the same series of approval certificate numbers.
Product scope
All access to Mexico's public telecommunications networks and radio equipment (including most digital products) need to be approved.
Application process
1. The customer submits samples and data to Waltek
2. Send the sample to the qualified laboratory for testing, and issue the test report after the test is completed
3. The qualification issuing agency reviews the test report and issues the IFTEL certificate
Marking requirements
COFETEL has no special mark, and all products approved under IFETEL system shall be marked as follows:
1. For wireless products of the whole machine, mark "IFETEL: xxxxxxxxxxxxx"
2. For host products containing approved modules, identify "This product contains an Approved module, Model No. xxxx, IFETEL No. xxxxxxxxxxxx"

Mexico Energy Efficiency and Energy Consumption Certification
Introduction to Certification
Energy Consumption Label Mexico
Mexico designated and authorized CONUEE of the Ministry of Energy and PROFECO of the Ministry of Consumer Rights to jointly issue the implementation plan of energy consumption labels. On September 11, 2009, the Mexican Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Consumer Rights jointly issued a statement requiring all manufacturers, importers or distributors of electronic and electrical products involving energy consumption to register.
The following year, the Mexican Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Consumer Rights released a list of 186 products with mandatory energy consumption labels, including electrical appliances and fuel use products, such as gas stoves, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and electric fans.
From September 10, 2011, the energy consumption labeling scheme was enforced. If the relevant products are not labeled with energy efficiency labels according to the regulations, the Mexican government will impose a fine of about 100000 dollars per model on the manufacturers, importers or distributors of the products.
Energy Efficiency Label Mexico
Mexico's energy efficiency label and energy consumption label are often confused. In fact, their coverage products and test standards are different. The energy consumption label covers a much wider range of products than energy efficiency. The certification authority of Mexico's energy efficiency certification is ANCE (Asiaciaci ó n de Normalizaci ó n y Certificaci ó n), which is under the control of CONUEE, the Mexican Ministry of Energy.
At present, the energy efficiency test must be conducted in a local laboratory in Mexico, and cannot be completed in China.
Product scope
1. Mexican energy consumption label control products: including electrical products and fuel use products, a total of 186 items, such as gas stoves, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, electric fans, etc.
2. Mexican energy efficiency label control products: household and commercial refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, washing machines, lamps, water heaters, etc.
Application process
1. The customer prepares samples and materials, and submits the application to Waltek
2. The qualified laboratory shall conduct the test and issue the test report after the test
3. The qualification issuing agency reviews the test report and issues the energy efficiency certificate
Label requirements
1. Energy Consumption Label Mexico
The label must be yellow, as shown below. The label must be attached to the product and the outer package. If the size of the product is insufficient, it can be attached to the outer package and displayed on the instructions.
The label must show energy consumption per hour, such as watt/hour, kilowatt/hour.
The label information must at least include energy consumption, quantity, unit and other information, and must be clearly visible.
According to different working modes of the product, there are three different labels for selection:
Note: The English corresponding to the three lines of Spanish are:Power Consumption、Power Consumption on stand by mode、Quantity of product or service made per energy unit。
