The electromagnetic interference source of household appliances is mainly caused by the sparks generated when the motor with commutator in the appliance is running and the actions of mechanical switches, various controllers and protectors. For example, vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, mixers, razors, etc. generate electromagnetic interference when the brush contacts the commutator to form sparks during the operation of the motor with commutator; Electric rice cookers, electric irons, electric ovens, washing machines, etc. generate electromagnetic interference due to frequent switching actions; The large current required when the air conditioner starts will temporarily reduce the grid voltage, the power factor of the power supply will decrease when the motor and other inductive loads are started, and the power electronic devices in the variable frequency air conditioner will also generate power harmonics, etc; The multi-function controller of the electric fan is equipped with silicon controlled devices to generate high-order harmonic disturbance; The two-level digital signals used in household appliances with microprocessors such as remote control appliances, full-automatic washing machines, electric water heaters, microwave ovens will cause electromagnetic interference, and the interference frequency can reach hundreds of megahertz with the continuous increase of clock frequency; The leakage of electromagnetic energy generated by microwave ovens and induction cookers will not only cause electromagnetic interference, but also cause harm to human health.
CISPR14-1 and CISPR14-2 are the most important electromagnetic compatibility standards for household appliances, while microwave ovens and induction cookers (household electromagnetic induction appliances) belong to Group B equipment of industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) equipment, so their electromagnetic interference characteristics shall comply with CISPR11. The corresponding EMC standards for household appliances in the EU region are EN 55014-1 and EN55014-2, and the standards for microwave ovens and induction cookers are EN55011.
In the U.S. market, ordinary household appliances belong to the Unintentional RF Equipment specified in FCC Part 15, which needs to be "verified" for consumer ISM equipment and meet the requirements of FCC Part 18. The certification mode needs to select the declaration of conformity (DOC) or certification.

Electromagnetic fields (EMF) can cause dizziness, vomiting, childhood leukemia, adult malignant brain tumors, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, loss of fertility, cancer, etc. to the human body, seriously endangering human health. Therefore, in the field of lighting, in order to protect the central nervous system tissues of human head and trunk exposed to them and reduce their impact on human body, it is necessary to establish a reasonable method to evaluate the electromagnetic field in the space around lighting equipment - namely IEC/EN62493 standard.
Application scope of IEC/EN62493
This standard applies to the assessment of lighting equipment involving human exposure to electromagnetic fields. This assessment consists of an induced current density of 20 kHz to 10 MHz and a Special Absorption Ratio (SAR) of 100 kHz to 300 MHz around the lighting fixture
Applicable product scope
All indoor and outdoor lighting equipment used for lighting purposes, with the basic function of generating and distributing light, and intended to be connected to the low-voltage power supply network or operated with batteries; General lighting equipment refers to all industrial, residential, public places and street lighting equipment; One of the main functions is the lighting part of multifunctional lighting equipment.
